Equity · Futures · Options
Step 4

Download the statement

Download the statement for the required period. When your account offers more than one format, use the original spreadsheet version supported by QbarTrade rather than a PDF, screenshot or manually reformatted copy.

Use Transaction Statement. On the website, open Portfolio → Other Statements and Reports. In the app, use Account → Statements & Reports → All Reports → Transaction Statement.

Choose the correct Market Type. Select Equity for stocks or Derivatives for futures and options, then choose the financial year and frequency required for your import.

PART 2 · IMPORT INTO QBARTRADE

Upload and validate your ICICI Direct trades.

Follow these 12 steps inside QbarTrade to transform ICICI Direct statement rows into a clean, reviewable trading journal.

STEP 01

Open Trades

From the QbarTrade sidebar, open Trades.

STEP 02

Open the import menu

Use the three-dot menu beside the Add button and select Import trades.

STEP 03

Add the ICICI Direct statement

Select Add file and upload the original spreadsheet Transaction Statement downloaded from ICICI Direct.

STEP 04

Assign the broker account

Select the ICICI Direct broker account that produced the statement. This keeps broker-specific trades and analytics organised correctly.

STEP 05

Review the mapped rows

QbarTrade displays the mapped transactions before final import. Review the instrument or contract, side, quantity, segment, entry, exit, duration, stop-loss, P&L and strategy fields.

STEP 06

Resolve validation warnings

Rows may be marked valid, invalid, needs broker or needs instrument. Correct missing information or remove rows that do not represent usable trade executions.

STEP 07

Remove report-only rows

Delete headings, totals, blank lines, disclaimers or other statement content that does not represent an executed trade.

STEP 08

Merge related executions

Select related transactions and use Merge when several executions belong to one completed trading idea or round-trip. QbarTrade can preserve the individual entry, scale-up, scale-down and exit legs inside the combined trade.

STEP 09

Edit trade details

Use the edit action to correct the instrument or contract and add the broker account, strategy, notes, stop-loss price, charges or taxes where required.

STEP 10

Save the changes

Save the edited row after confirming that the corrected transaction information is accurate.

STEP 11

Confirm the import

When the valid rows are ready, select Confirm & Import to add them to the QbarTrade trading journal.

STEP 12

Review imported trades

Return to the Trades page and use the All filter to review imported open and closed trades.

AFTER THE UPLOAD

Turn execution rows into reviewable trades.

Validate transaction rows

Review which statement rows contain usable execution data and identify rows that require broker or instrument information.

Connect executions into round-trips

Combine related entries, additions, reductions and exits so the complete position can be reviewed as one trading outcome.

Preserve individual trade legs

The completed round-trip can retain its underlying fills, helping you understand how the position was built, adjusted and closed.

Add strategy context

Assign a strategy so later analysis can compare outcomes across your repeated trading setups.

Add risk and cost details

Add stop-loss, brokerage, charges or taxes where required so the journal reflects more than gross price movement.

Analyse performance

Evaluate Net P&L, win rate, profit factor, expectancy, average R multiple, maximum drawdown, equity curve, daily net P&L, average win, average loss, streaks, weekday performance and top traded symbols.

ROUND-TRIP MERGING

One trading idea can contain several ICICI Direct executions.

A position may include several entries, quantity additions, partial exits and a final close. These can appear as separate rows in the Transaction Statement or Trade Book. QbarTrade lets related executions be combined into one round-trip while preserving the underlying legs for audit and review.

Round-Trip Example

Entry: Buy 1 shareExecution 1
Scale up: Buy 2 more sharesExecution 2
Scale down: Sell 1 shareExecution 3
Exit: Sell the remaining 2 sharesExecution 4
Result in QbarTrade:One completed round-trip with four preserved execution legs.
IMPORT TROUBLESHOOTING

Common ICICI Direct statement import issues.

The wrong market type was selected

Download an Equity Transaction Statement for stock trades and select Derivatives when you need futures or options transactions. Import the files separately when required.

A Trade Book view was used instead

ICICI Direct uses Trade Book for executed or completed trades and contract-wise history. For a downloadable historical file, use Transaction Statement from Statements & Reports.

An F&O Turnover Statement was uploaded

The F&O Turnover Statement is a quarterly Excel report updated weekly and is useful for turnover or tax reconciliation. Use the Derivatives Transaction Statement as the primary historical trade-import source.

The statement was downloaded as PDF

Use the original spreadsheet option currently available in your ICICI Direct account. PDFs, screenshots and copied tables do not preserve the structured rows expected by the importer.

Some historical transactions are missing

Check the selected financial year, frequency, market type and period. Download additional statements when the required history spans different financial years or segments.

The P&L does not match ICICI Direct

Check whether you are comparing the same market type, date range, open or closed positions, gross or net P&L, brokerage and taxes, and whether all related executions have been merged.

An instrument or contract is not linked

Search for and select the correct NSE or BSE equity, futures or options instrument. Unlinked rows may have limited chart or analytics functionality.

Scale-in trades appear separately

Select only the transactions that belong to the same completed position and use Merge to create one round-trip.

A row has the wrong strategy

Open the row editor and assign the strategy that accurately represents the original trading setup.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ICICI Direct Trade Import FAQ

Which ICICI Direct file should I import into QbarTrade?+

Use the Transaction Statement available under Portfolio → Other Statements and Reports on the website or Account → Statements & Reports → All Reports in the app. Choose Equity or Derivatives according to the trades you want to import.

How do I download the ICICI Direct Equity Transaction Statement?+

On the website, go to Portfolio → Other Statements and Reports → Equity Transaction Statement, choose Equity, view the required period and download the file. In the app, open Account → Statements & Reports → All Reports → Transaction Statement.

How do I download ICICI Direct futures and options transactions?+

Open Portfolio → Statements & Reports → Transaction Statement, choose Derivatives and view the required period. ICICI Direct identifies this path for derivative transaction records.

Can I import both ICICI Direct equity and F&O trades?+

Yes. Download the Equity and Derivatives statements separately and import each file into the same ICICI Direct broker account in QbarTrade. Review the segment and instrument mapping before confirming.

What is the difference between ICICI Direct Trade Book and Transaction Statement?+

The Trade Book shows executed or completed trades and contract-wise trade history. The Transaction Statement is the downloadable historical report organised by market type and reporting period, making it the better primary source for this import workflow.

Can I use the ICICI Direct F&O Turnover Statement?+

The F&O Turnover Statement can be downloaded quarter by quarter in Excel and is updated weekly. It is useful for turnover and tax reconciliation, but the Derivatives Transaction Statement is the preferred source for importing individual historical trades.

Can I import older ICICI Direct trades?+

Yes. Select the required financial year, frequency and market type. Download separate statements when your history spans more than one financial year or includes both Equity and Derivatives.

Why are some ICICI Direct rows marked invalid?+

A row may contain a heading, total or non-trade statement line, or it may be missing a broker account or mapped instrument. Correct the missing information or remove the row if it is not an executed transaction.

Can I merge multiple ICICI Direct executions?+

Yes. When multiple transactions belong to one completed position, select them and merge them into one round-trip while retaining the underlying execution legs.

Why does imported P&L differ from ICICI Direct?+

Check the date range, market type, open versus closed positions, gross versus net P&L, brokerage and taxes, and whether every entry and exit transaction has been included and grouped correctly.

Should I upload an ICICI Direct P&L statement or contract note?+

Use the Transaction Statement for this workflow. A P&L statement summarises results, while contract notes are day-wise confirmations and may not be suitable for a multi-period structured import.

Does importing trades allow QbarTrade to place ICICI Direct orders?+

No. File import is used only for journaling and analysis. It does not give QbarTrade permission to place, modify or execute orders in your ICICI Direct account.
