What happens after import?
How to download your Dhan Profit & Loss report.
Sign in to Dhan Web
Open web.dhan.co and sign in using your registered mobile number or the QR-code login option.
Open Journal by Dhan
Click the Profile icon in the top-right corner and select Journal by Dhan to access your trading statements and reports.
Choose Profit & Loss and a date range
Open Statement & Reports, select Profit & Loss and choose the custom From and To dates that contain the trades you want to import.
Download CSV or Excel
Click CSV or Excel to download the Dhan Profit & Loss report. Keep the original headers, worksheets and column structure unchanged before uploading it to QbarTrade.
Use Profit & Loss. On Dhan Web, open Profile → Journal by Dhan → Statement & Reports → Profit & Loss, choose the date range and select CSV or Excel.
Keep the file format intact. Upload the downloaded Dhan report with its original sheets, headers and columns so QbarTrade can map the trade records accurately.
Upload and validate your Dhan trades.
Follow these 12 steps inside QbarTrade to transform your Dhan Profit & Loss report into a clean, reviewable trade journal.
Open Trades
From the QbarTrade sidebar, open Trades.
Open the import menu
Use the three-dot menu beside the Add button and select Import trades.
Add the Dhan report
Select Add file and upload the CSV or Excel Profit & Loss report downloaded from Journal by Dhan.
Assign the broker account
Select the Dhan broker account that produced the imported trades. This keeps broker-specific trades and analytics organised correctly.
Review the imported rows
QbarTrade displays the mapped rows before final import. Review the instrument, side, quantity, segment, entry, exit, duration, stop-loss, P&L and strategy fields.
Resolve validation warnings
Rows may be marked valid, invalid, needs broker or needs instrument. Correct the missing information or remove rows that do not represent usable trade records.
Remove unwanted rows
Select invalid or irrelevant rows and use the delete action to exclude them from the final import. Examples include report headings, totals, empty lines, summary rows, unmapped instruments or non-trade information.
Merge related executions
Select related rows and use Merge when multiple executions belong to one completed trading idea or round-trip. A merged trade can preserve the individual entry, scale-up, scale-down and exit legs while showing the combined position as one reviewable outcome.
Edit trade details
Use the edit action to correct the instrument or add broker account, strategy, notes, stop-loss price and charges or taxes.
Save the changes
Save the edited row after confirming the corrected trade information.
Confirm the import
When the valid rows are ready, select Confirm & Import to add them to the QbarTrade trading journal.
View all imported trades
Return to the Trades page and use the All filter to review imported open and closed trades.
Turn execution rows into reviewable trades.
Validate trade rows
Review which rows contain usable execution data and identify rows that require broker or instrument information.
Connect executions into round-trips
Combine related entries, additions, reductions and exits so a complete position can be reviewed as one trading outcome.
Preserve individual trade legs
The complete round-trip can retain its underlying fills, helping you understand how the position was built and closed.
Add strategy context
Assign a strategy so later analysis can compare outcomes across your repeated trading setups.
Add risk and cost details
Add stop-loss and charges or taxes where required so the journal reflects more than gross price movement.
Analyse performance
Evaluate key journal metrics including Net P&L, Win rate, Profit factor, Expectancy per trade, Average R multiple, Maximum drawdown, Equity curve, Daily net P&L, Average win, Average loss, Win and loss streaks, Performance by weekday, and Top traded symbols.
One trading idea can contain several Dhan executions.
Scaling into a stock, adding quantity at a second price, partially exiting and closing the remaining position can create several execution rows in the imported report. Reviewing each row separately can hide the outcome of the complete decision. QbarTrade lets related executions be combined into one round-trip while preserving the underlying legs for audit and review.
Round-Trip Example
Common Dhan report import issues.
The broker is not assigned
Select your Dhan broker account before confirming the import. This ensures the imported records are connected to the correct account.
An instrument is not linked
Search for and select the correct NSE, BSE, futures, options or commodity instrument. Unlinked instruments may have limited chart or analytics functionality.
The wrong Dhan report was uploaded
Use the Profit & Loss report from Journal by Dhan → Statement & Reports. A holdings summary, ledger, contract note or tax report may not contain the columns expected by this workflow.
Some historical trades are missing
Check the custom From and To date range selected in Journal by Dhan. Download and import additional Profit & Loss files if your history spans multiple periods.
The file contains extra header or total rows
QbarTrade helps you identify non-trade rows during the review step. Delete header or total lines before confirming the import.
The P&L does not match
Check whether you are comparing the same date range, open or closed positions, gross or net P&L, missing brokerage or taxes, incorrect entry or exit mapping, or unmerged executions.
Multiple entries appear separately
Select only the rows that belong to the same completed position and use Merge to create one round-trip.
A row has the wrong strategy
Open the row editor and assign the strategy that accurately represents the original trading setup.

Dhan Trade Import FAQ
Which Dhan file should I import into QbarTrade?+
Use the Profit & Loss report available under Journal by Dhan → Statement & Reports. Download the report as CSV or Excel so QbarTrade can read the structured trade rows.
How do I download the Dhan Profit & Loss report?+
Sign in to web.dhan.co, click your Profile icon, select Journal by Dhan, go to Statement & Reports, choose Profit & Loss, set the date range and select CSV or Excel.
Can I import older Dhan trades?+
Yes. Select the relevant date range in Journal by Dhan. If your trading history spans multiple periods, download separate files and import them into QbarTrade in sequence.
Can I import Dhan equity, F&O and commodity trades?+
This workflow is intended for supported equity, futures, options and commodity trade rows contained in the Dhan Profit & Loss report. Review instrument and segment mapping before confirming the import.
Why are some Dhan rows marked invalid?+
A row may be missing an instrument, contain report heading or total text, have incomplete execution data or require broker assignment. Correct the missing detail or remove the line if it is not an actual trade.
Can I merge multiple Dhan executions into one trade?+
Yes. When several executions belong to the same completed position, select them and merge them into one round-trip while retaining the underlying trade legs.
Can I edit a Dhan trade before importing it?+
Yes. The review screen lets you update fields such as instrument, broker account, strategy, notes, stop-loss and charges or taxes before saving the imported trades.
Why does my imported P&L differ from Dhan?+
Check whether you are comparing the same date range, open or closed positions, gross or net P&L, and whether charges, taxes and all execution legs are included correctly.
Does importing trades allow QbarTrade to place Dhan orders?+
No. Importing a report is strictly used for journaling and analysis. It does not grant QbarTrade permission to place, modify or execute orders in your Dhan account.
Should I upload a Dhan holdings statement or Profit & Loss report?+
Use the Profit & Loss report from Journal by Dhan. A holdings statement shows current portfolio balances, while the P&L report contains the trade execution detail needed for journaling.
