PART 1 · REQUEST FROM HDFC SKY

How to request your HDFC SKY Trade Summary.

Step 1

Sign in to the HDFC SKY app

Open HDFC SKY and sign in to the trading account whose completed trades you want to add to your QbarTrade journal.

Step 2

Open Backoffice

Open your Profile and select Backoffice. HDFC SKY also describes Backoffice as the area where account reports and statements are available.

Step 3

Open Reports and Trade Summary

Inside Backoffice, open the Reports tab and select Trade Summary. This is the HDFC SKY report intended to show completed trading activity for a selected period and segment.

Step 4

Choose the date and segment

Select the required date or date range and choose the relevant segment. HDFC SKY's official help article lists Equity, Derivative and Currency as Trade Summary segment choices.

Equity · Derivative · Currency
Step 5

Send the report to your registered email

Select Send to email. HDFC SKY sends the requested Trade Summary to the email address registered with your broker account.

Step 6

Save the structured report attachment

Open the email and save the original structured spreadsheet attachment when available. Do not rename columns or alter the report before uploading it to QbarTrade. A PDF-only attachment cannot be used as a structured trade import file.

Use Trade Summary. Open Profile → Backoffice → Reports → Trade Summary, choose the date and segment, and select Send to email.

Do not substitute another statement. Profit & Loss, Capital Gains, Client Ledger, Holding Statement and Contract Notes are useful for reconciliation or compliance but are not the primary execution report for this workflow.

PART 2 · IMPORT INTO QBARTRADE

Upload and validate your HDFC SKY trades.

Follow these 12 steps to turn the HDFC SKY execution report into clean round-trips, strategies and performance analytics inside QbarTrade.

STEP 01

Open Trades

From the QbarTrade sidebar, open Trades.

STEP 02

Open the import menu

Use the three-dot menu beside the Add button and select Import trades.

STEP 03

Add the HDFC SKY report

Select Add file and upload the supported CSV or XLSX Trade Summary attachment received from HDFC SKY. Do not upload a contract-note PDF, holdings statement or screenshot.

STEP 04

Assign the HDFC SKY broker account

Select the HDFC SKY broker account that produced the report. This keeps account-level trades and analytics organised correctly.

STEP 05

Review the mapped executions

Review instrument, side, quantity, segment, trade date, entry, exit, duration, P&L and strategy fields before completing the import.

STEP 06

Resolve validation warnings

Rows may be marked valid, invalid, needs broker or needs instrument. Add the missing information or remove rows that are not actual trade executions.

STEP 07

Remove report-only rows

Delete headings, totals, disclaimers, empty rows or other non-trade information that may have been included in the emailed report.

STEP 08

Merge related executions

Select executions that belong to the same completed position and use Merge. QbarTrade can retain the entry, additions, reductions and exit legs while presenting one reviewable round-trip.

STEP 09

Edit trade context

Correct the instrument where required and add strategy, notes, stop-loss, charges or taxes that are not available in the imported execution rows.

STEP 10

Save the corrected row

Save your changes after confirming the broker, instrument and trade details.

STEP 11

Confirm the import

When the valid HDFC SKY rows are ready, select Confirm & Import to add them to QbarTrade.

STEP 12

Review the imported trades

Return to Trades and use the All filter to review imported open and closed positions, round-trips and performance data.

AFTER THE UPLOAD

Turn execution rows into reviewable trades.

Validate HDFC SKY rows

Identify usable execution rows and flag missing broker, segment or instrument information before final import.

Create complete round-trips

Connect entries, scale-ins, partial exits and final exits so the full trading decision can be reviewed together.

Preserve execution detail

Keep the individual fills behind each completed position for a clearer audit trail and execution review.

Add strategy context

Assign the setup or strategy used so repeated HDFC SKY trades can be compared consistently.

Reconcile risk and costs

Add stop-loss, brokerage and statutory charges where required to move from raw execution data toward realistic net results.

Analyse performance

Review Net P&L, win rate, profit factor, expectancy, average R, drawdown, equity curve, weekday performance, streaks and symbol-level results.

ROUND-TRIP MERGING

One HDFC SKY position can contain several executions.

A position may be built through multiple fills, increased at another price, reduced partially and closed later. Trade Summary can therefore contain several rows for one trading decision. QbarTrade lets you connect those rows into one round-trip while preserving the individual execution legs for review.

Round-Trip Example

Entry: Buy 1 shareExecution 1
Scale up: Buy 2 more sharesExecution 2
Scale down: Sell 1 shareExecution 3
Exit: Sell the remaining 2 sharesExecution 4
Result in QbarTrade:One completed round-trip with four preserved execution legs.
IMPORT TROUBLESHOOTING

Common HDFC SKY Trade Summary import issues.

The Trade Summary email has not arrived

Confirm that you selected Send to email and check the inbox and spam folder of the email registered with HDFC SKY. Generate the report again if required.

The wrong HDFC SKY report was selected

Use Backoffice → Reports → Trade Summary for execution history. Profit & Loss, Capital Gains, Client Ledger, Holding Statement and Contract Notes serve different reporting purposes.

The selected segment is incorrect

Generate separate Trade Summary reports for the relevant Equity, Derivative or Currency segment so the instrument types and transactions are easier to map correctly.

The attachment is a PDF

QbarTrade needs structured CSV or XLSX rows for this workflow. Do not upload a PDF or screenshot. Use the structured spreadsheet attachment or export option available in your current HDFC SKY Backoffice version.

Some historical trades are missing

Check the date selection used while requesting Trade Summary. Generate additional reports for other periods or segments and import them sequentially.

The broker or instrument is not linked

Assign the HDFC SKY broker account and select the correct NSE, BSE, futures, options or currency instrument before confirming the row.

The imported P&L differs from HDFC SKY

Compare the same date range and segment, then check open versus closed trades, gross versus net P&L, brokerage and statutory charges, and whether all related execution legs were merged.

Partial fills appear as separate trades

Select only the execution rows that belong to the same completed position and use Merge to form one round-trip while preserving the underlying legs.

Commodity trades are not shown in the filter

HDFC SKY supports commodity trading, but its published Trade Summary help article specifically lists Equity, Derivative and Currency filters. Check the current Backoffice report options or contact HDFC SKY support for commodity-history availability.

Does HDFC SKY provide Trade Summary as CSV or XLSX?+

HDFC SKY's public help article confirms email delivery but does not state the attachment extension. For QbarTrade, use the original structured CSV or XLSX attachment or export available in your Backoffice. PDF files and screenshots are not suitable for structured trade import.

Can I use the HDFC SKY Profit & Loss report instead?+

Use Trade Summary when you need completed execution rows for journaling. The Profit & Loss report is useful for reconciliation, but it serves a different purpose and may not provide the execution structure expected by the importer.

No. Contract notes are official day-wise confirmations. For this multi-day trade-import workflow, request Trade Summary from Backoffice → Reports and use the supported structured attachment.
