Angel One Trading Journal: Auto-Sync Trades & Track MTF by Days Held

Connect Angel One and QbarTrade imports every executed order automatically — then does the part Angel One doesn't: it tracks how long each MTF position is held and accrues the funding against the trade it belongs to. If a position was interest-free to start, you see the exact day that changes. MTF, read as a countdown.

Two ways to get your Angel One trades into QbarTrade

Connect the account for live sync, or upload an Angel One statement — and you can use both together, which is what most people end up doing: import once to backfill history, then connect so you never touch it again.

Method 1 — Connect for automatic sync

  1. Sign in to QbarTrade and open Broker Connect.
  2. Select Angel One and authorise the read-only connection.
  3. QbarTrade pulls your order history and backfills your existing trades.
  4. Every executed order syncs automatically from then on — MTF trades identified for you.

That's the whole setup. No daily export, no column mapping, and no evening spent reconciling a spreadsheet you'll abandon by month three.

Method 2 — Import your Angel One statement

  1. In Angel One, open your reports / statements section.
  2. Download your tradebook or P&L statement for the period you want.
  3. In QbarTrade, go to Import → Angel One and upload the file.
  4. Columns map automatically, option legs group themselves, and trades merge with anything already synced — no duplicates.

This is how you bring in history from before you signed up. Exact menu labels vary as Angel One updates the app — look for Reports or Statements.

Angel One MTF: the interest-free window is a deadline in disguise

The problem

A free position quietly stops being free

Angel One has grown fast by bringing newer traders into MTF, often with promotional terms — including interest-free windows on funded positions. Any free window has the same catch: a deadline. The day it ends, a position that felt free silently starts costing money, and by then most people have stopped watching. And even outside a promo, MTF cost really comes down to one number nobody tracks per trade — days held. The longer a position sits, the more the carry builds, and the interest is debited separately from the trade's P&L, so the two are never joined.

What QbarTrade does

It reads MTF as a countdown, per position

QbarTrade tracks days held for every Angel One MTF positionand accrues the funding against the trade it belongs to — so you can see the exact day an interest-free window runs out, or the day the carry starts to outrun the move. Nobody else frames MTF this way, because nobody else joins days-held to the funding cost. It's all net of brokerage, STT, exchange fees, GST and stamp duty, so the number you review is the real one.

Your MTF win rate, expectancy and R-multiple are computed after funding cost — not before it.

Built for how you actually trade on Angel One

New to MTF

Angel One's growth is powered by newer traders across tier-2 and tier-3 India, many taking their first funded positions. QbarTrade makes the part the app hides visible from day one — days held, the interest that follows, and the exact point a free position starts to cost.

Following advisory or tips?

Angel One sits close to research and advisory, so a lot of positions here come from someone else's call. A journal is how you find out whether those calls actually paid — after cost, after carry — instead of remembering the winners and forgetting the rest.

Swing traders

A multi-day Angel One position carries its plan with it — entry logic, stop, target, R:R — and its days-held carry too. When it closes, you review the trade against the plan you wrote and the interest it actually accrued, not a P&L number you decide, retroactively, that you knew.

Options traders

Legs from your Angel One order book arrive grouped into one strategy with strikes, expiry and net premium intact — a short strangle is one trade, not four rows you join by hand. Tag it by type and see which structures actually pay you, by expiry week.

The Planner: never miss a breakout or an indicator trigger

Angel One gives you execution and research. What it doesn't give you is something that watches your setups for you. QbarTrade's Planner does — you mark the levels and conditions that matter before the session, and it alerts you the moment one is hit, so an opportunity you did the work for doesn't slip past while you're on another chart.

Breakout alerts

Mark a support or resistance level and get alerted the moment price breaks it — no staring at the screen all day.

Indicator triggers

Set conditions on RSI, EMA, MACD or VWAP and let the Planner watch them across your watchlist for you.

Timestamped plans

Every level is logged before it triggers, so “I would have taken that” becomes something you can actually verify.

  • RSI
  • EMA
  • MACD
  • VWAP
  • Support
  • Resistance
  • Breakout

It helps swing traders catch the breakout, options and futures traders time the entry, and MTF traders act on a plan instead of a hunch — every trigger you set gets watched, and you get pinged when it hits.

Angel One is genuinely good at what it's for: execution, research and clean statements. It records what you traded. It was never built to tell you the day a funded position stopped being free.

Notes for Angel One accounts

Angel One's base is different from the discount-first crowd: mass retail, growing fastest across tier-2 and tier-3 India, with a large share of newer traders and a research-and-advisory culture around it. Two things follow from that. First, a lot of positions here come from someone else's call, which makes an honest, after-cost record more valuable, not less — it's the only way to know whether the advice actually paid. Second, promotional MTF terms, including interest-free windows, are a common way to bring newer traders into funding for the first time.

The catch with any interest-free window is the deadline. The day it ends, a position that felt free quietly starts accruing — and a newer trader is exactly the person least likely to be watching for it. QbarTrade tracks days held for every Angel One MTF position and joins the funding to the trade, so you see the day a free position flips to a funded one, net of every statutory charge. It turns MTF from a number you hope is still zero into a countdown you can actually see.

Frequently asked questions

Does Angel One have a built-in trading journal?

Angel One gives you order history, positions and downloadable P&L, plus research and advisory. But it records what you traded, not why — and it doesn't tie your MTF funding cost, or how long you held, to each trade. QbarTrade adds that layer on top of Angel One's data.

Can I sync my Angel One trades automatically?

Yes. Connect Angel One to QbarTrade with a read-only connection and it imports your executed orders automatically — so you're not exporting a statement by hand every week or re-typing it into a spreadsheet.

Does Angel One offer MTF, and does QbarTrade track the interest?

Yes. Angel One offers Margin Trade Funding, and QbarTrade identifies MTF trades automatically. It tracks how many days each funded position is held and accrues the interest against the trade it belongs to, so the cost is measured per position rather than lost in a separate ledger entry.

My Angel One MTF position was interest-free — when does it start costing?

If your position is on a promotional interest-free window, the cost begins the day that window ends — and most people have stopped watching by then. QbarTrade tracks days held for every MTF position, so you can see the exact day a free position flips to a funded one and the carry begins.

How do I export my Angel One trades or download my P&L?

Download your trade or P&L statement from Angel One's reports/statements section and upload it to QbarTrade — or connect the account for automatic sync. The import backfills your history and merges with synced trades without duplicates.

Can I journal my Angel One F&O and options trades automatically?

Yes. QbarTrade imports Angel One F&O and options trades, groups multi-leg strategies into a single trade, and carries lot size through — so win rate, R-multiple and expectancy are calculated at strategy level rather than per leg.

Is connecting Angel One to QbarTrade safe?

The connection is read-only and revocable from your Angel One account at any time. QbarTrade never places orders and never holds funds — you execute in Angel One, and QbarTrade syncs the result back for planning, journaling and analytics.

Can I journal trades from more than one broker?

Yes. Multiple broker accounts roll into one view of capital, P&L and risk — which matters, because most active traders run more than one account while their capital is really one balance sheet.
